The Jacobson or just simply “The J” is a cozy yet modern eatery with local seasonal items inspired by the flavors, spices, & cuisines of the Midwest and beyond. The J’s sharable “Mingle” plates along with innovative signature cocktail and flask service provide a unique mix of dining and socializing. Nestled in the historic Crossroads Arts District “The J” is situated in a converted industrial 4,000 square foot warehouse once occupied by A.D Jacobson. Interestingly enough, A.D. Jacobson was the brother of Edward “Eddie” Jacobson. Eddie Jacobson was a business partner and close personal friend of Harry S. Truman. The Jacobson offers a seasonal scratch kitchen, serving brunch saturday & sunday from 11 am - 3 pm. The best Happy Hour in The Crossroads Tues- Friday from 4 pm-7 pm, with REVERSE Happy Hour from 7-11pm on Friday. Dinner service Tues-Sat starting at 4 pm and LIVE ENTERTAINMENT Friday & Saturday Nights on the patio & in their NEW Central Lounge.

We made reservations for Valentine's day. We were seated immediately. Service was good food was delicious.Great atmosphere. My husband had the Amish fried Chicken and I had shrimp and pasta.Chicken was different but good different. I think it was skinless but however it is cooked it as a crispy coating and It was full of flavor.Shrimp and pasta was pretty good too! I definitely want to go back.

We reserved seats for dinner here on a Friday night, we were seated outdoors. Cool fire pit to keep you warm in the cooler nights. We order lots of items to share at the table...Beets, mushrooms, brussel sprouts, mac n cheese, cheese and meat plate and smoked salmon. Loved it all! And the signature drinks can be served in flasks if you’d like more than one drink. Cool option.

Used to be a favorite, and it might still be great for brunch, but restaurant week was a disaster. Soup was good, but the entree and dessert were inedible.
